Rush Limbaugh: “This Is Just Pure Marxism Coming Out Of The Mouth Of The Pope”

We knew this would happen after Pope Francis called for renewal of the Roman Catholic Church and attacked unfettered capitalism as “a new tyranny”, while writing of income inequality, and urging global leaders to fight poverty. One by one Republican talkers will trickle in, to voice their negative opinions of the Pope.
Infamous bigot, Pamela Geller asked when the Pope became an Imam.
And now here’s Rush Limbaugh declaring,”This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the Pope.”
Pope Francis I praying in a Rome Basilica on his first day as pope
Listen to Rush’s objections as he mentions the Pope’s fight against poverty.

Rush Limbaugh would call Jesus Christ a CINO.

Are you a liberal? Well, according to this
scholarTea Party person, you are brainwashed. That “Jewish guy,” what’s his name, is funding liberalism and we are all sheep.
But the burning question, the real debate, is whether or not President Obama is homosexual or bisexual. Yes. They are seriously discussing this. Aside from calling him a Muslim, a Kenyan, a pot smoking Socialist, a Communist and a terrorist, he wants to take away your guns and he beats seven-month old fetus babies over the head.
Her news sources? Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and “informative” Tea Party meetings.
Seriously, these people are scary and they vote. These are the folks complaining that Sarah Palin isn’t president.
Watch and weep.

Asshat Limbaugh Falls For "White Males Should Kill Themselves" Satire Piece

Asshat Limbaugh Falls For "White Males Should Kill Themselves" Satire Piece

by ProgLegsFollow

Conservative blogs have been abuzz the past few days over the latest round of bigotry against the oft-oppressed white male.   The "news" outlets are reporting that Noel Ignatiev, a real professor at Massachusetts College of Art, suggested in his final lecture that white males needed to kill themselves:
"If you are a white male, you don’t deserve to live. You are a cancer, you’re a disease, white males have never contributed anything positive to the world! They only murder, exploit and oppress non-whites! At least a white woman can have sex with a black man and make a brown baby but what can a white male do? He’s good for nothing. Slavery, genocides against aboriginal peoples and massive land confiscation, the inquisition, the holocaust, white males are all to blame! You maintain your white male privilege only by oppressing, discriminating against and enslaving others!
[...]
Obviously, all whites need to be destroyed, but why not start with white males? They are behind most of history’s greatest atrocities. Besides, some of the brothers like to bang white women. Eventually white women can breed out, but my feeling is that if you are a white male, you should kill yourself now. If you are a thoughtful person, with a social consciousness who considers himself white, you will consider suicide. It’s the right thing to do."
Today Rush Limbaugh picked up the story and ran with it--it fits perfectly with his ongoing narrative that white male Christians are subjected to nonstop persecution.
The only problem?  The lecture is completely fictional--as one of Limbaugh's office flunkies pointed out as soon as El Rushbo's Gucci ostrich loafer-clad foot was firmly in his mouth.
I shit you not, Limbaugh actually led into his aborted segment with the following statement:
"I look at how easily people are made to follow and made to believe things and lied to and act like sheep..."
Rush then attempted to lead his sheep into believing a false story about a professor whose white man's guilt leads him to suggest mass suicide for his white male students: Listen for yourself:
*
Just when the vein was bulging dangerously on his sweaty crimson forehead, one of Rush Limbaugh's staff told him off mike that the story was not real.
Egg dripping from his wattles, Limbaugh tried--and failed--to save a little face:
"Now they tell me that this professor's story has been debunked.  Well, it just showed up in a major blog last night.  Ok, so the story is a satire.  It's a major blog.  Where did it show up?  (Rattles papers to cover sounds of nervous flatus) Ahhhhhh, I'll have to click on the link to find out, cause the print...Washington Times reported it.  Why does something like that work?  There are professors who teach that the problem with the planet is human beings.  There are environmentalist wackos who teach that the world would be much better if there were no human beings.  And the left is filled with these kinds of extremists."
The story that suckered Limbaugh comes from a satirical website called Diversity Chronicle which includes such pieces as "Breaking News:  George Zimmerman Eats 3 Egg Omelet". Had Limbaugh actually done some research instead of getting all his information from headlines gleaned from easily outraged dimwit websites he would have found that the Ignatiev "lecture" included the following lines:
"Perhaps we are finally coming to an awareness in this country that the cancer known as the white race must be obliterated. Especially in the form of white males. Obama is president, and I think there is an excellent chance that we will never have a white male president again. I think we are witnessing the breaking of the back of the white male power structure. We will still have residual white males that must be dealt with, but I am confident that we’ve won. Eventually, I would like to put white males in concentration camps and work them to death just like they’ve done to everyone else. When they are all dead we can throw a party and dance around their corpses!"
But of course "facts" and "research" are not Rush Limbaugh's strong suit.

Stop Fox News: Tell FCC To Revoke Broadcast License NOW!

Stop Fox News: Tell FCC To Revoke Broadcast License NOW!

Help us take Fox News off the air—get the FCC to revoke Rupert Murdoch’s broadcast licenses NOW!

The deplorable actions Murdoch has taken to run his News Corp. empire prove we can't trust him to act in the public interest. Now, a study by Farleigh Dickinson University shows Fox News can’t even claim to inform its audience: its viewers are less informed than those who avoid news outlets altogether!

It’s the Federal Communications Commission’s job to consider the character of a media owner when dealing out broadcast licenses, and to label programs as news only when they actually inform viewers. The Murdoch Mafia has failed on both counts, and we have a chance to take them down for good. Save the airwaves from bigotry and corruption: tell the FCC to enforce the law NOW!

FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION: Rupert Murdoch has failed every “character” test available, and the programs under his broadcasting licenses have both been implicated in scandal and have been proven to make audiences less informed, not more. We urge you to revoke Murdoch’s broadcasting licenses immediately, and to take a stand against his corrupt media empire.

Palin, Beck Launch Campaigns for President of Shadow Government

Written by David Neilsen November 20th 2013

fox_hannity_palin_civilwar_120309g
WASHINGTON  – Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and former Fox News host Glenn Beck each launched their 2013 President-in-Waiting campaigns this week at a rally in the nation’s capital. The two Presidential hopefuls were joined by over one hundred people who had gathered in front of the White House to begin what organizers are calling the Second American Revolution to demand that President Obama resign his office.

Reclaim America Now, which organized the event, announced that if he did not relinquish the Presidency by Black Friday (November 29), they would meet in Philadelphia to elect a ‘shadow government.’

“America, I hear your call and I’m ready to stand in your stead as your President once we get rid of that Kenyan over there,” said Palin to the cheering crowd of dozens while pointing towards the White House. “When we gather in Philadelphia, in the great state of Delaware, I will answer the call that I have heard and we will together create a real America from the ashes of the other America that is so great it deserves better!”

“[It’s time] to cleanse the nation of the half-Muslim, anti-white, socialist fraud in the White House before the nation goes under for the final count,” said event organizer and Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman. “Through the Second American Revolution, we will elect a real President who will be ready to move in to the White House just as soon as we toss out the current occupant and have the place fumigated.”

“In the end [Obama] will feel the force of the American people, just like King George did,” he added to applause.

“Some people will say I shouldn’t be elected Shadow President,” said Beck as he took the stage. “These are the same people who deny that the Founding Fathers were evangelical Christians! Are you going to listen to them? Hell, no! Don’t let somebody else tell you what to do! Vote Beck in 2013!”

Contributing to the convention-like atmosphere was a George Washington impersonator who took the stage to read a revised version of the Declaration of Independence. It demanded, among other things, lower taxes for all U.S. citizens, a physical, original copy of President Obama’s birth certificate, and unqualified support for Israel to launch a preemptive strike against Iran.

“I’m really excited about our slate of amazing Shadow Presidential candidates,” said Klayman. “I’ve even heard that Alan Keyes is considering a run. My only regret is that Ted Cruz is waffling on a bid what with his current gig and all. But we might elect him in absentia anyway.”

Sarah Palin Calls Limbaugh One of Her “Heroes,” Claims He Helps Make the United States “Exceptional”

November 19, 2013 By Allen Clifton

http://www.forwardprogressives.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/palin-limbaugh.jpgOne of the more unfortunate aspects of my job is having to follow people on Twitter and Facebook that I absolutely can’t stand.  The same goes for watching Fox News.  I’m convinced the career path I’ve chosen will ultimately take years off my life.
One of those reprehensible individuals that I follow is none other than Sarah Palin.  Speaking of Sarah Palin, am I the only one who wonders if John McCain sits at home sometimes just thinking to himself, “What in the hell was I thinking introducing this moron to the national spotlight?”
I really do believe that he does.
But moving on.
Today while I was scrolling through my Twitter feed, I ran across a Tweet from Palin that sent me to a picture on her Facebook account of her and Rush Limbaugh taken at what appears to be some kind of book signing event in Florida.
Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh in the same room together—just let that roll around your head for a while.
Well, below this picture was a caption where she called Rush Limbaugh one of her “heroes.”  Seriously.  Rush Limbaugh, a hero?  A drug addicted, sexist, womanizing, racist, bigoted adulterer—is apparently a “hero” to Sarah Palin.
She posted:
Mega dittos from the EIB network headquarters in Florida! Got to meet one of my heroes today, Rush Limbaugh. As I’ve said many times, I was a ditto-head before ditto-head was cool! I was delighted to get a copy of Rush’s new book “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.” Great book for readers of ALL ages. Thank you, Rush, for all you do to educate Americans everyday on the things that make this nation so exceptional.
Brave, selfless, courageous people are heroes.  Role models are heroes.
Some arrogant pile of garbage who makes a living spewing vile hatred, racism and total ignorance is not any kind of “hero.”  And anyone who would view Rush Limbaugh as any sort of a “hero” only shows what a low-life piece of trash they really are.
Seriously, to look up to Rush Limbaugh?  Even many of my conservative friends think he’s disgusting.
But that’s not all she said — she also thanked Limbaugh for educating Americans everyday and being part of what makes this country exceptional.
Wow.
She believes Rush Limbaugh is someone who helps “educate” Americans and is part of what makes this country “exceptional”?  She said this about Rush Limbaugh?  Limbaugh, someone who constantly degrades women and minorities.  Someone who’s cheated on several wives.  A self-proclaimed “Christian” in Sarah Palin believes Limbaugh to be exceptional?
Then these people wonder why I don’t consider them Christians.
I always knew Sarah Palin was an absolute fool, but her comments about Limbaugh have placed her in a whole new level of stupidity as far as I’m concerned.  And to think, she was could have been VP.

Sarah Palin proves why elections and voting are so important.  Just think about it — had liberals been apathetic in 2008, allowing John McCain to become president, Sarah Palin could very well be our vice president and one heartbeat away from the Oval Office.
If that doesn’t motivate you to get out and vote every election, I don’t know what will.

Rush Limbaugh Fans Now Literally Crapping Their Pants

Rush Limbaugh Fans Now Literally Crapping Their Pants

by ProgLegs

An unpleasant new affliction is sweeping across the ranks of loyal Rush Limbaugh listeners who are gullible enough to buy the right wing talk show host's apocalyptic view of our nation.
And in true greedy right wing fashion, an opportunistic business has seized upon its chance to capitalize on these unfortunate Dittoheads' misery.
On Tuesday, an alert Flush Rush monitor caught an ad during the Rush Limbaugh broadcast for Butterfly Body Liners, a product designed to protect against "accidental bowel leakage."
Yes, Rush Limbaugh fans are now regularly crapping their pants.
But why?  What is it about the Tea Party darling's inflammatory program that causes people to lose control of their bowels?  And why now?? Rush Limbaugh has always been a skilled fearmongerer.  But his ability to frighten listeners increased exponentially with the election of our country's first African American president.  Limbaugh has convinced his listeners that Obama is tribalizing America, that he's just like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao, and that he may seek a 3rd term as president.
But if the thought of a black president-for-life wasn't enough to send right wingers into a pants-crapping frenzy, the gay marriage issue did it.
Ahead of the Supreme Court's decision on the Defense of Marriage Act, Limbaugh had listeners believing that if gay marriage became legal it would inevitably lead to marriage between people and furniture, unions between people and animals, and even legalized sex with children. And with Hawaii now ready to become the 15th state to allow same-sex marriage, Limbaugh listeners have apparently reached the breaking point and commenced pants soiling.
The only unanswered question here is a sort of a chicken-or-the-egg mystery.  Is the sudden boon for Butterfly Body Liners sales simply fortuitous timing?  Or did Limbaugh have some sort of secret behind-the-scenes deal with the company to scare the shit out of his fans for a cut of the profits?
Well that Depends on who you ask.
Let's review. This

David Frum: Republicans Have Been Fleeced, Exploited, and Lied To by Right Wing Media

Posted on 10:17 by Unknown

Yet more crude and vulgar hate speech that we've come to expect from yet another far-right "Christian". We quote (With no corrections to his poor syntax, spelling and grammar):
"why don't all you stupid liberals wash the horseshit out of your brains. morally bankrupt hopers and dreamers without any sense of reality. don't you ever call conservatives Liars. You just hate when you're caught red handed spreading satan's work all over the planet."
- Greg Howard, owner of Pleasant valley pools (Lack of proper capitalization, his own).
Our reply:
Wow, Greg Howard, we'll quote you on that on our main page, because you certainly prove to be the typical and expected points of this page. Unless you think those Republicans are perfect saints, everyone lies to some degree, and no one here is stooping to your lie that anyone called them "liars", but of course you probably can't comprehend the difference between labeling someone "liar" and addressing lies on their own merits....because if lies make people "liars", then we all are.
Aside from that, anyone is free to call anybody anything they want. It's called free speech or the First Amendment to the Constitution.
You're also "bearing false witness" about the administrators of this page, who are two Registered Independents and two Registered Republicans, who, as with Bob Dole, John McCain, Colin Powell, Bush's David Frum, etc., are tired of right-wing extremism such as yours doing damage to the Republican brand....speaking of which...
You're not only caught "red handed spreading satan's work" with your own lies by misquoting people, but you stoop to the very UnChristian and primitive emotionalism by evoking an ancient iron-age fairy tale (satan) that your alleged "all-knowing, all-creator" created, yet "knew" people of your low caliber would sin nevertheless.
An alleged "god" who "creates" an "eternal lake of fire", is no god, but a monster that would make Hitler's torture chambers appear like playgrounds...oh wait...your alleged "god" also "created" Hitler.
You, Greg Howard, owner-operator of Pleasant Valley Pools, are "caught red-handed" clinging to your socialized belief system, built on lies and contradictions about an "all-powerful god" (who would thus have power over "satan") of which you have not one shred of proof and evidence for.
Your type of hate speech and generalizations are lies, Greg Howard, as other Republicans point out, with proof and evidence in the right-wing extremists' own words:

Keeping Black Voters in Their Place

Posted on 09:22 by Unknown

Keeping Black Voters in Their Place

By THOMAS B. EDSALL
Published: November 5, 2013
The Republicans who now control the legislatures and governorships in the Deep South are using the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965 to create a system of political apartheid.
Stephen Crowley/The New York Times
Thomas B. Edsall
No state demonstrates this better than Alabama, where in 2010 Republicans took over the State Senate and House for the first time since Reconstruction. This is a signal example of the decline of black power in the South.
Mike Hubbard, a Republican from Auburn, who is speaker of the Alabama House, engineered the 2010 takeover of the legislature. He was forthright in his 2012 book — “Storming the Statehouse: The Campaign That Liberated Alabama From 136 years of Democrat Rule” — about his techniques for displacing white Democratic incumbents:
“We needed to find our targets and the candidates to take them on, so I commissioned an in-depth study of voting patterns in various districts represented by white Democratic legislators across the state.”
Before the 2010 election, there were 60 Democrats in the Alabama State House, 34 of them white, 26 black. Now there are 36 Democrats, 26 of them black, 10 of them white. In the State Senate, the number of Democrats fell from 20 – 13 white, 7 black – to 11 Democrats, 4 white, 7 black.
Once Alabama Republicans gained control of the levers of power, they wasted no time using the results of the 2010 Census to reinforce their position of dominance. Newly drawn lines further corralled black voters into legislative districts with large African-American majorities, a tactic political professionals call “packing and stacking.” Redrawn district lines minimize the potential of coalitions between a minority of white voters and a solid core of black voters. Under these circumstances, white Republican voting blocs remain dominant.
At the core of this strategy is an unexpected twist: Republicans in Alabama and in many other states have gone out of their way to protect black legislative districts and black legislators from Republican or white Democratic challenges.
Have Republican legislators in the South become civil and voting rights champions? No. They are promoting the interests of African-American voters in order to enhance the ability of Republican officials whose real targets, white Democrats, are struggling to cope with the steady decline of loyal “Yellow Dog” supporters.
To achieve this goal, Republican state legislators purposely keep the influence of Democratic-leaning minorities to a minimum in districts with white majorities. Alabama is a state where 80 percent of whites voted Republican in the 2004 presidential elections; 90 percent did so in 2012.
“The most important part of the plan was to preserve minority districts,” said Jim McClendon, the Republican state representative from Springville who co-chaired the Alabama redistricting committee. In a phone interview, McClendon rejected suggestions that the Republican goal was to make it harder for white Democrats to win re-election to state legislative office: “No, not at all. The voters are making it tougher on white Democrats.”
Out of a total of 105 State House districts, 27 have black majorities, one of which is represented by a white Democrat. In those districts, the average percentage of black voters is 66.4 percent, far above the percentage election experts now consider critical if the goal is to insure that minorities have the ability “to elect their preferred candidates of choice,” as the Voting Rights Act puts it.
In a federal court challenge to the state’s Republican-drawn redistricting plan brought by the Alabama Legislative Black Caucus, Theodore S. Arrington, a professor emeritus of political science from the University of North Carolina and an expert in election law, testified on Aug. 12 that 50 percent plus one vote would be enough in Alabama.
In redrawing the State Senate and House lines after the 2010 Census, the number of black “influence” districts – majority white districts with enough blacks so that minorities and a relatively small percentage of whites could together elect a Democrat – were kept to a minimum, and in some cases eliminated altogether.
Before redistricting, for example, there were five majority-white State Senate districts in which there were potentially enough blacks, Hispanics and other minorities to form an alliance with white Democrats to win in November. According to documents provided by James Blacksher, the plaintiffs’ lawyer in the federal court case brought by the Alabama Legislative Black Caucus, these State Senate districts had an average percentage of minority voters of 35.9 before redistricting; after redistricting, the average percentage of minority voters in the five most integrated majority-white districts fell to 29.5. In other words, there was a significant decline in the number of majority-white state legislative districts in which minorities might have enough votes to form an alliance with still-Democratic whites.
McClendon, the Republican state representative from Springville, now plans to run in 2014 for State Senate in District 11. Before redistricting, the voting age population of that district was 65.5 percent white; after redistricting, it is 81.9 percent white, virtually guaranteeing a Republican victory.
In the State House districts with majority white populations, only two had minority populations exceeding 30 percent, 32.0 and 34.5 percent.
None of the 78 majority white State House districts falls into the racial “middle ground” with minority percentages in the 36 to 49 percent range. These are the kind of state districts most likely to produce biracial coalitions, and most likely to elect white Democrats, not only in the South but nationwide.

Arrington testified that the intent of Republican redistricting was to prevent blacks “from forming effective cross-race coalitions” both in elections and in the state legislature. “If you’re restricted to just 25 to 30 percent of the districts in the Legislature, and you have no ability to form coalitions with whites, then your ability to participate politically is restricted. It’s not participating equally in the political process,” he said.
Blacksher, the lawyer representing the Alabama Legislative Black Caucus in its suit, said in a phone interview that the Republicans’ goal is “to make all Democratic seats black, all Republican seats white.”
According to the Alabama Legislative Black Caucus,
“Republican lawmakers packed black voters into 27 House districts and eight Senate districts. The redistricting plans ‘purposely perpetuate and attempt to restore Alabama’s historical policy of segregating African Americans in party politics.’ ”
McClendon flatly denied such intent: “That wasn’t part of the plan,” he told me.
The Republican redistricting plan has had some unexpected consequences, with significant racial ramifications, one of which grows out of the state’s unusually strong restrictions on the powers of city and county officials. Alabama does not have home rule and requires instead that the state legislature approve virtually all local laws, including laws governing Jefferson County, which encompasses Birmingham.
The Alabama Legislative Black Caucus contends in a jurisdictional statement asking the Supreme Court to take up the case that
“The legislature enacted plans that place Jefferson County in 18 House districts, only 8 of them majority-black. All of the majority black districts lie entirely inside Jefferson County, but 6 of the 10 majority-white districts cross into 6 other counties. The 2012 Senate plan puts Jefferson County in 8 districts, 3 majority-black and 5 majority-white. All 3 of the majority-black Senate districts lie entirely inside Jefferson County, but all 5 of the majority-white districts cross the Jefferson County boundary to include parts of 11 other counties. Altogether, 155,279 non-residents vote for members of Jefferson County’s House delegation, and 428,101 people residing in other counties vote for members of the Jefferson County Senate delegation.”
The consequences are substantial, according to the statement:
“White legislators will continue being able to block local revenue bills, whose defeat has helped drive Jefferson County into bankruptcy and has closed Cooper Green Mercy Hospital for the poor.”
One solution would be for Congress to amend the Voting Rights Act to more explicitly address the political reality that African-Americans in the South are now mobilized and turn out in far higher percentages than was the case when the act was written in 1965.
Arrington testified before the Middle Alabama Federal District Court that because of increased turnout, blacks in Alabama are, in fact, able to elect politicians of their own choosing in districts that are 50 percent or less minority – that the 60-70 percent levels that civil rights leaders called for decades ago are no longer required.
Changes in African-American political mobilization actually offer much stronger potential for integrated politics than in the past, when black political representation required supermajorities of minority voters. The elections of Barack Obama to the presidency, of Cory Booker to the Senate in New Jersey and of Deval Patrick to governor in Massachusetts clearly show that such biracial alliances are now achievable.
Republicans, however, will do what they can to prevent pro-Democratic trends from emerging in regions they dominate. After successfully winning control of the South, Republicans will not let go of the reins. In that famously vicious political blood sport, redistricting, they will exploit their ability to deploy the cloak of civil rights to maintain and strengthen a politically advantageous segregation of the races.

North Carolina Republican switches to Democrat, writes a blistering assessment of the GOP

North Carolina Republican switches to Democrat, writes a blistering assessment of the GOP

November 1, 2013
By Anomaly
A Republican congressional candidate is renouncing his party and switching his affiliation to Democrat writing, “Enough is enough’ in a statement released today.
North Carolina Republican Jason Thigpen, is challenging Republican U.S. Rep. Walter Jones in the 3rd Congressional District, and wrote a detailed assessment of the GOP, saying his shift was precipitated by the tea party push for a government shutdown, the NewsObserver reports.
Thig
His statement reads in part:
I simply cannot stand with a Party where its most extreme element promote hate and division amongst people. Nothing about my platform has, nor will it change. The government shutdown was simply the straw that broke the camels back. I guess being an American just isn’t good enough anymore and I refuse to be part of an extremist movement in the GOP that only appears to thrive on fear and hate mongering of anyone and everyone who doesn’t walk their line. We’ve received some wonderful support by numerous leaders and members within the NC GOP, as the vast majority of Republicans are wonderful, hard-working people that don’t agree with those radical nut-jobs either but unfortunately the extremists in the party, with their ‘burn it all down’ philosophy, appear to be the ones turning out the majority of voters in the primaries and mid-term elections. And I want the people to know there is a choice.”
…
Thigpen further explains, “I didn’t go to war to defend the liberties and freedoms of one Party, race, sex, or one income class of Americans. Whether white, black, Hispanic, Asian, man, woman, gay, lesbian, straight, rich, or poor – we fought together as equals, side-by-side for the benefit of every American in the same. So, to come home from serving our country and see North Carolina legislators using their super-majority status to gerrymander districts and pass a law to deliberately suppress and oppress the voting rights of Democrats but more specifically minorities and college students, is absolutely deplorable.
This same group of spineless legislators piggybacked a motorcycle safety bill with legislation intentionally geared to shut down women’s health clinics because of their ‘right righteous’ beliefs on abortion, while then cutting funding to the programs which help feed and provide healthcare to the babies they invariably forced the same women to have. Sounds like the Christian thing to do, huh? These legislators, acting under the guise of the religious right and morality believe themselves to be the divine judge but according to the Bible, there is only one judge.
They say they’re for a smaller government and individual rights while pushing legislation for more government intervention and regulation usurping our right to choose for ourselves. They take money away from the public school system so they can call it broken, only to give the money to their charter schools that are really private schools, just so our kids don’t go to the same school as theirs all the while giving some great speech trying to convince us it isn’t segregation. Right. But all along, they seemingly want you to believe that you have a choice – like ‘cake or death.’
What took him so long?

Media Silent About Beck, Jones Influence On LAX Shooter

By karoli

Two days ago LAX terminal 3's security was breached by a 23-year old guy with an assault rifle who shot his way past security checkpoints and got all the way to the boarding areas before he was stopped by airport police. As one might have suspected, that 23-year old kid appears to have been heavily influenced by the likes of Glenn Beck and Alex Jones.
SPLC reports that Paul Anthony Ciancia's manifesto "seemed to put him squarely in the conspiracy-minded world of the antigovernment “Patriot” movement." In that same report, they discuss the explosion of these groups in the past few years, and go on to discuss the Patriot movements dim view of the DHS.
So-called Patriots also increasingly see the DHS, which produces intelligence assessments of extremists that are distributed to other law enforcement agencies, as an enemy and even a collaborator in the New World Order conspiracy. Many believe DHS has targeted their movement and is somehow connected to the alleged construction of concentration camps by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The purported camps are thought to be meant for those Americans who resist a coming national seizure of all weapons from U.S. citizens.
Friday's shooting is important on a number of different levels, beginning with the AR-15 Ciancia was able to obtain apparently while living in California, which has some pretty strict state-based laws, including a statewide assault weapons ban. It raises questions about responsibility of high-profile "media" figures like Beck and Jones and begs for a renewed spotlight on our current NRA-controlled national debate over something as simple as universal background checks.
You might think it's a great topic for the Sunday shows. I certainly expected it to be. I went looking to see what the topics of the day are, and to my surprise, there was skeletal coverage (see video above) of the shooting, and no mention whatsoever of the influences on the shooter.
Are Alex Jones and Glenn Beck off limits for criticism now? After all, they're the primary peddlers of the anti-government, paranoid thinking so prevalent among anti-government nuts. There is a reality to what they do, after all. Call the government evil and invasive often enough, concoct enough scenarios of how "government" is the amorphous scary bogeyman aiming at innocents everywhere, toss in some NSA paranoia and libertarian claptrap and you get a guy with an assault weapon not just shooting people outside the security checkpoint, but targeting unarmed government agents because he can.
Why isn't this something to discuss? Why shouldn't the libertarian "I hate government set" represented by Beck and Jones be accountable for reaching into someone's darkest fears and stoking them?
Arming the TSA or attributing this to a 'lone wolf' isn't the answer. From what I've read, Ciancia wasn't mentally ill. He may have suffered from depression or anxiety, but not to a point where he left reality. No, that happened when these maniacs on TV and radio started talking about One World Order, Agenda 21 and the gold standard.
Evidently that's too weighty for the delicate ears and eyes of the Sunday show viewer. After all, why talk about paranoid maniacs and dead public servants when you've got Obamacare to kick around?
